Guy Kawasaki on Succeeding: An Interview with Guy Kawasaki
Recently Kersten Kloss and I had the pleasure of interviewing Guy Kawasaki on his book “What the Plus – Google + For the Rest Of Us”.
Guy talked about numerous things including Guy Kawasaki on Succeeding.
Here is a transcription from the Guy Kawasaki on Succeeding Video:
CHRIS HAMILTON: I was talking before about having you in one of my circles, and I’m surprised your wife hasn’t divorced you, by now. I see you on Google+ all the time, and from what I understand, you have a wife, four kids, a dog, two chickens, two turtles, three guinea pigs and two lizards. How do you manage to spend so much time on Google+?
GUY KAWASAKI: Well, one kid is in college. One kid is a junior who’s playing football right now, so he just comes home, eats, goes into his room and does homework (at least, I hope that’s what he’s doing). One kid is seven years old and asleep by 7:30. My daughter is eleven, and she’s the jewel of my treasure chest. I also have a great wife.
Honestly, I believe the reason I’ve succeeded in life is that I outwork people. I don’t consider myself smarter than most people. I’m certainly not more of a visionary than most people. I just am willing to work hard. To use a hockey analogy, some people are willing to both forecheck and backcheck, while others aren’t. I just work my ass off.
CHRIS HAMILTON: I can certainly appreciate that, as I do a ton of work myself. People have told me they see me everywhere. That’s because I make the attempt to be seen everywhere. I believe that’s the only way people will find you.
